LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced the appointment of Vince Charlton as its new director of European outreach.
Hailing from the world of accountancy and offshore trusts, Charlton is probably best known in the adult industry for his work with European merchant account provider eMerchantPay. Charlton, based in Jersey, Channel Islands, U.K., now runs his own corporate consultancy for adult merchants, specializing in restructuring international adult companies. Married and the father of two, Charlton looks forward to promoting both ASACP and RTA while increasing the awareness of child protection issues within the European market.
Charlton says his sons are the core element in his volunteering to assist in the promotion of ASACP amongst European clients, and he firmly believes in the protection of children and the restriction of access to adult content by minors.
“Having two young sons of my own, the problem of minors accessing online adult content has always been on my mind and when Tim offered me the opportunity to work more closely with ASACP in Europe, I saw it as the ideal opportunity to put my money where my mouth is and actually do something positive to help promote such a worthwhile cause,” Charlton said. “I am delighted to have the chance to work with Tim and the rest of the ASACP team to further develop a concept I feel very strongly about as both a parent and an Industry professional.”
Among Charlton’s first duties for the association will be attending the European Summit in Barcelona, where he will join ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, where the pair will conduct an ASACP/RTA Information Session at 2 p.m. this Saturday.
“Vince is a standup guy who has supported ASACP behind the scenes for a number of years, and we’re delighted to add him to our valued team,” Henning said. “Vince’s appointment as Director of European Outreach underscores ASACP’s ongoing commitment to this significant market segment, where an increasing volume of adult content is being produced.”
“Vince’s European expertise will help us to reach this vital audience,” Henning added, “Where ASACP’s message of keeping children out of and away from adult entertainment must be heard.”
